About the author:
Over the last decade, Stephen McGinity has ran his own small, yet successful music and entertainment memorabilia business, consisting of rare records and CD's, original autographs from past and present, promotional items and personally owned celebrity memorabilia acquired online and through many various respected sources across the globe.
Throughout this time, he has had the good fortune to be able to travel around a large majority of Europe including sightseeing in such wonderful places as Rome, Madrid, Helsinki, Milan and more recently along The Cote d'Azur to name but a few, along with more obscure destinations, which have included visiting Gdansk in the dead of winter whilst staying in the middle of a forest...alone, and a future trip to Moscow looming on the horizon.
Excuse me, are you British?
In February 2011, Stephen began to venture further afield and spent a two week period in California, U.S.A. whilst sampling the delights of Napa Valley, San Francisco, San Jose, Monterey Bay and Yosemite National Park - he instantly fell head over heels in love with the places, the people and the American way of life, so much so, that off the strength of this short life changing vacation, he spent the following six months planning and organizing an adventure that would take him right the way across The United States Of America all the way from East coast to West coast via train, and during the months of September and October 2011 he accomplished this amazing feat whilst spending time getting completely and deliciously lost in such glorious and breathtaking cities as New York, Washington D.C. and Baltimore, Chicago, Denver, San Francisco and finally the sprawling metropolis of Los Angeles.
Once completed - physically exhausted yet thoroughly elated, he sat down and wrote a book all about it...
Stephens first novel, entitled: Excuse me, are you British? is the true story of a voyage of discovery across the mighty U.S. of A. and is jam packed with a day to day personal account of a journey filled with hilarious true stories, strange encounters, shameless confessions and a no-holds barred look at the many diversities and cultures of a nation - seen through the eyes of an Englishman.
